Chromatic Minuet

Okie dokie. Another art class project, somewhat. Explanation: Alright, so we come back from the weekend, I'm excited to get to work on the project we were working on before because I finally got the sketch finished. All of a sudden, my teacher calls everyone who isn't a senior up to the front so she can explain something. She tells us we have a new project. It's for a contest. And it MANDATORY! Guess when the deadline was? Today, May 14, 2010. That gave us one or two weeks, I don't remember. Oh, also, we have to use gouache, an art medium we've never worked with before. Oh joy. >.> So of course, I'm way behind in my art work (technically by one project) and my teacher was giving me a choice to do this project or not. I amazed myself and ended up doing it.

It took a total of 2 days to come up with the idea (I got yelled at by the teacher). Took 3 days to draw the line art. Then took me 2 days to paint-- yesterday and today. (So, maybe we didn't get it on Monday...)

Materials:
Scarlet, orange, lemon yellow, permanent green light, Prussian blue, violet, titanium white, Payne's gray and lamp black gouache.
Black and silver sharpie.
Gold foil pen.
On a 7.5 x 10 inch cold press Crescent Illustration Board.
